Pulsing With Eclec-tricity in San Diego

FOR years, 30th Street at University Avenue in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood, a major city center from the ’30s to the ’50s, was sorely lacking in restaurants and night life. The elegant North Park Theatre, a neighborhood jewel built in 1928, shut down in the ’70s; the marquee became an area eyesore.
