Seeking a way to better connect evangelicals within the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Biblical Presbyterian Network has announced its first regional chapter to go with an already established online presence.
Formed on Jan. 27, the first regional group is based in Pittsburgh, Pa., covering western Pennsylvania and Ohio. The group's co-moderator, the Rev. Toby Brown, said many more regional networks are expected.
"We feel like this is the one thing that hasn't been done for evangelicals," Brown said, acknowledging that the Confessing Church Movement gave churches a platform, but didn't provide the connectivity to sustain the effort. "We can be a way to give evangelicals an identity within the PCUSA."
