Pastorgraphs: “Thanksgiving”
Anita and I want to
take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. We celebrated our
family Thanksgiving a little early so I could go to Yazoo City, MS and spend
Thanksgiving Day with my soon-to-be 91 year old mother, my brother and sisters,
nieces and nephews. Two Thanksgivings in one year…now that’s the way to do it!
I am especially
grateful that the Annual Thanksgiving Meal at Christ United Methodist will
continue this year, thanks to the efforts of Jeannetta Kramer, Annette Dunbar
and a small army of volunteers. Everyone is invited to enjoy a wonderful meal
this Thursday as you offer thanks-giving for all of God’s blessings.
“The
Book”
I promised to let
you know when my book, “Three
Steps to Integrity: The ABC Model” was ready. The eBook versions are
available now for Kindle and Nook. A PDF version is available for purchase and
immediate download on The Integrity Network website, www.eIntegrity.NET. (The website is almost
ready for primetime.) The paperback versions should be ready by the end of this
week from Amazon and Barnes and Noble. Plus, I have copies if you would like to
order one or more books directly from me. Call me or email me if you are
interested.
This book is the
product of my personal quest to understand and work toward integrity in my own
life. (Everyone who knows me well knows how much work I have yet to do!) And
that is the point: No matter where you are on the integrity spectrum, this book
provides practical resources for anyone to take the journey to a life of
integrity, wholeness and happiness.
Soon, you will
begin thinking about New Year’s Resolutions. What better goal can we set for
next year than to improve ourselves, our relationships, and our entire life?
I will share more
with you later regarding The Integrity
Network (eIntegrity.NET). If you would like to become a part of the
call for a revival of integrity, please let me know. You can join The Integrity
Network, “like” our page on Facebook and receive our free eNewsletter for
resources that will help you, your family and friends find the rewards of a
life lived with integrity.
By the way, the
book was written in such a way that it provides a four-session study guide. If
you are interested in conducting an integrity study (church class, home book
study, half-day retreat, or “ethics training” at work) please contact me. I
will be pleased to speak to any group, anytime (even by GoToMeeting) about
Integrity. We will soon be offering weekly online classes. So stay tuned.
Two special prayer
requests: Kimo Shearin has asked for prayers for one of his mentors in the
Professional Program at UCLA whose father was killed in an auto accident, and
whose mother is in critical condition.
Also, please
continue to keep Judy Gloyer and the Gloyer family in your prayers. Judy
underwent another emergency surgery Friday night. She has had several surgeries
following chemotherapy for a rare form of cancer.
May God bless you
as you gather this week with family, friends and loved ones. In spite of all
the problems in this world, we are most blessed.
I Thank God For
YOU!
Brother Bill
From the Quote Garden:
“Thou hast given so much to me,
Give one thing more, - a grateful heart;
Not thankful when it pleaseth me,
As if Thy blessings had spare days,
But such a heart whose pulse may be Thy praise.”
