For centuries, South Korea has been influenced by Confucianism and Buddhism -- the dominant belief systems of its giant neighbors China and Japan. But today, more Koreans call themselves Christian than any other religion and South Korea is second only to the United States in the number of missionaries it sends to the developing world.
Fred de Sam Lazaro reports from Seoul, South Korea, on the phenomenon of the nation's missionary evangelism taking place around the globe. "When we were hopeless, the Western missionaries came and they introduced us to the hope in Jesus Christ," explains Reverend Yongjo Ha with Onnuri Church, an evangelical Presbyterian church. "So we have a very holy obligation to share this hope in Jesus Christ with those people who are still in their misery."
