Christians can already live and celebrate eternal life

Blessed Easter! For Christians, Easter is bigger than any other celebration. That's why Easter is not just a one-day celebration for us. We celebrate Easter for a whole season. But that's not the extent of it, either. One way or another, we celebrate Easter every Sunday of the year— every Sunday of our lives.

God raised Jesus from the dead on a Sunday. Nothing else a Sunday can bring can overshadow that. God raised Jesus from the dead on a Sunday. That's why the first Christians met for worship on Sundays and it's why we do too. In a wonderful way, every Sunday is Easter Sunday! And there's still more! For the Christian who lives by faith, every day is Easter Day.

There's a good reason why Easter is bigger than any other celebration. We believe that when God raised Jesus—who had given himself away completely for God's world and died on a cross—God transformed all of history.

Easter is not just an anniversary. For Christians, it is a complete reversal. Instead of life leading to death, now death leads to life! In a sense then, Christians can already live and celebrate eternal life, even in the face of life's troubles, sadness, and death.

Easter is our death-defying, life-long celebration that God is forever on the side of life!

May God renew your hope and joy this Easter.
