Dear America - We Don't Know You Anymore
Dear America. This one's more introspective than usual — a pause from the satire and humour, and something I just needed to say out loud.
It’s a letter, really. A song from one Canadian to our American neighbours — full of complicated feelings, love, frustration, and a hope that someday, we’ll be close again.
Over the past few years, things have changed. Between tariffs, trade wars, and political chaos, it’s felt harder and harder to stay connected. We're not looking to be the 51st state — and we shouldn’t be. That’s not what this friendship was ever about.
This isn't about Trump, China, or any one headline. It’s about something deeper: the feeling of drifting apart from someone you used to know, used to trust. Some days it even feels like our liberation day — a quiet break, just to breathe.
Sometimes you carry a feeling long enough, and eventually, it writes itself. This video came from that place.
If you’ve ever felt torn between admiration and heartbreak, or struggled with how to hold space for friendship when things feel broken — this one’s for you.
We’ll get back to the usual soon. But every now and then, you’ve got to speak from the chest.
